Igbos who believe Buhari’ll hand over to S’East are traitors –Youth Movement

The whole of S'East gave me one local govt's votes, yet I've been fair to the zone- Buhari

The Igbo Youth Movement (IYM) has described claims that President Muhammadu Buhari will handover the presidency seat to an Igbo person in 2023, should he be reelected in 2019, as falsehood.

The group wondered how a Buhari who could not trust an Igbo person with any sensitive security position in his government would hand over power to them, describing those spreading the “falsehood” as haters of Ndigbo.

The group added that those politicians and other people from South East, who are spreading the “lies because of filthy lucre” are nothing other than traitors.

The group’s founder, Evangelist Ugochukwu Uko, who stated this in a statement Friday night, warned Igbo across the country against voting for Buhari or any other candidate aside the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.

On how the election will afford Nigerians an opportunity to halt alleged official discrimination in Buhari’s administration he said, “We will all permanently put away the hatred and mindless division established in the land almost four years ago through the infamous 97per cent/5per cent official policy that is threatening to destroy our country.”

He went further to say that there were “legions of reasons why no reasonable voter should vote for Buhari.”

Pointing out alleged sectionalism in appointments, Uko said it was unimaginable how a Buhari would hand over power to an Igbo person in 2023 if he wins re-election this February.

“People who have no scruples, trumpeting such blatant falsehood, are actually only confirming their hatred for Ndigbo. Our sons and daughters who join in repeating such lies because of filthy lucre, are nothing other than traitors.

“Any voter, who votes for any other candidate aside Atiku Abubakar on February 16, is only assisting General Buhari, to cling onto power. I repeat that any vote not cast for Atiku, only benefits Buhari and that will be calamitous.

“Ndigbo resident in all the 36 states and Abuja are hereby reminded of the historic duty to return Nigeria to the path of justice, equality, equity, fair play and level-playing field for all, in the hope that the search for true nationhood begins in earnest, by explaining to your kinsmen, the great need to vote Atiku Abubakar on February 16, 2019,” he said.
