Giovanni Moreno opened scoring for the hosts 21 minute into the game before Freddy Guarin doubled the lead in the 33rd minute.

Ighalo, who joined the club this season after rejecting a loan offer from Barcelona, compounded their visitors’ woes with a third goal before halftime.

He got his second of the game in the 66th minute to take the scoreline to 4-0.

With 10 minutes left on the clock, Zhang Lu netted Shanghai Shenhua’s fifth before Senegalese forward Makhete Diop scored Beijing Renhe‘s consolation goal on 86 minutes.

Ighalo finished as the second highest goalscorer in the CSL last season with 21 goals for his former club Changchun Yatai.

He also finished as the highest goalscorer at the just-concluded CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with 7 goals.
