Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheancho, on Sunday lived up to his words by scoring and helping Manchester City securing a Champions League spot.

Iheanacho on Saturday said Manchester City will do well to secure a UEFA Champions League spot as a parting gift for outgoing manager Manuel Pellegrini.

Iheanacho‘s early goal was all Manchester City needed to clinch the Premier League’s fourth place in a 1-1 draw with Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday.

Andre Ayew scored the equalizer for Swansea City, which finishes 12th in the PL.

Manchester United had its match with Bournemouth postponed due to a suspicious package at Old Trafford, but the Red Devils will not catch City barring an absurd score line whenever the match is played.

The side that Pep Guardiola will be taking over has a three point lead over Manchester United and a goal-differential advantage of 18, surely an insurmountable deficit for the Red Devils to overcome in their finale

When Manchester United does take to the field for its finale, it is going to need a historical result to prevent its city rival from reaching the Champions League, and it’s going to need a point to ensure a place in the Europa League after Southampton’s victory provisionally put the Saints in fifth place, level on points with United and with a superior goal differential.
