Super Eagles attacking midfielder, Kelechi Iheanacho, claimed a stoppage-time winner as Manchester City snatched a dramatic 2-1 victory over managerless Swansea City Saturday to recapture the Premier League summit on Saturday.

Wilfried Bony’s 26th-minute header against his former club looking like it would separate the two sides but substitute Bafetimbi Gomis looked to have salvaged a point for the hard-working Swans with a ferocious strike in the 89th minute before Yaya Toure’s shot deflected in off Iheanacho’s back, barely two minutes to earn Manchester City a win at a sodden Etihad Stadium.

Swansea, who sacked Garry Monk on Wednesday, continue to slide towards trouble, having won just once in 12 league matches.

But they can take great heart from a display that troubled their opponents, and so nearly brought reward.

Caretaker manager Alan Curtis attempted to halt Swansea’s slide by picking a side without a recognised centre-forward, as Stoke City had when they beat City 2-0 seven days earlier.
