Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho is in cloud nine after helping his club, Manchester City defeat Manchester United in the Manchester derby on Saturday.

City dominated much of the opening 45 minutes and were 2-0 ahead, thanks to goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Iheanacho, as the first half drew to a close.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic halved the deficit on 42 minutes after City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo – making his debut – dropped a Wayne Rooney free-kick into the path of the former Sweden striker, who volleyed home expertly.

But Pep Guardiola’s side held off a spirited United effort in the second half to strike the first blow between two of the pre-season Premier League title contenders.

The 19-year-old became City’s youngest scorer in the Premier League era of the derby.
“It means the whole world to me,” he said.

“It’s a dream come true to play in the Manchester derby and to get the winning goal so I’m very happy for my team and everyone.

“They really worked hard to get the victory so I’m very happy for the fans as well that came to support us.

“I didn’t anticipate the shot, I didn’t think it was going to hit the post and come back but I’m happy it came off me and I scored a goal.”
