Iheanacho scores as Eagles hold Corsica to draw

Manchester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho was in the rescue as Super Eagles of Nigeria held Corsica to a 1-1 draw in a friendly game staged at the Stade Francois Coty, Ajaccio on Friday evening.

Jean-Jacques Mandrichi scored from the penalty spot to put the Corsica side ahead 5 minutes into the game after Tyronne Ebuehi was penalised for handling the ball inside the box.

They held unto the lead for much of the game until Kelechi Iheanacho, who also scored through a penalty, equalised for Nigeria 10 minutes to stoppage time.

The friendly match is part of the national team’s preparations for their June 10th Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against South Africa in Uyo.
