It was different strokes for Super Eagles duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and John Obi Mikel during their outing with their respective clubs in the English Premier League on Saturday.

Iheanacho was in action for 57 minutes as Manchester City romped to a 4-0 win at the Etihad Stadium.

Sergio Aguero scored in the 41st minute courtesy of an assist from Iheancho, after Fabian Delph’s 22nd-minute opener, then doubled his tally in the 68th before the Argentine set up David Silva for the fourth six minutes from time.

The former Flying Eagles ace was replaced by Yaya Toure in the 57th minutes after his superlative display which attracted good commendation from many pundits.

Aguero linked up well with Iheanacho, and City boss Manuel Pellegrini praised the young Nigerian striker who was making just his second Premier League start.

“Kelechi is a very important player for us,” added the Chilean. “Every game he has, he takes it and takes it very positively. Today he had a great impact.”

Meanwhile, Mikel was in action for Chelsea as they continue to struggle in the EPL.

John Terry scored for both sides as The Blues pulled off a Houdini-like escape in a 3-3 home draw with Everton, the veteran defender grabbing a dubious equaliser in the dying seconds to atone for his 50th-minute own goal.

All the goals at Stamford Bridge came in the second half, with Chelsea battling back from 2-0 down before substitute Ramiro Funes Mori put Everton back in front as the game entered stoppage time.
