Iheanacho, Siasia, Imama for Nigeria Sports Award

Manchester City of striker, Kelechi Iheanacho, U-23 Eagles coach, Samson Siasia, Rangers’ League winning coach Imama Amapakapo and Paralympics coach, Feyisetan Are, have been shortlisted for the 5th edition of the Nigerian Sports Award billed for December 2016 in Lagos.

Chairman of the Award Panel, Ikeddy Isiguzo, while unveiling the 2016 final nominees in Lagos on Tuesday, said that the panel has concluded plans to give out recognition awards to deserving former sportsmen and women as well as sports management bodies in commemoration of the 5th anniversary of the award.

Iheanacho is listed for the football player of the year alongside Wikki Tourists’ Godwin Obaje who emerged as the highest scorer in the Nigerian League as well as Rangers’ Chisom Egbechulam.

It will be a fierce battle between Siasia, coach Are and Rangers’ League winning coach Imama Amapakapo for the coach of the year category.

Other categories include Special sports person of the year (women), Special sports person of the year (men), Sportswoman of the year, Sportsman of the year, Journalist of the year (radio), Journalist of the year (television), Photo journalist of the year, Journalist of the year (print), Team of the year.
