I’ll run for Presidency in 2019 if Trump wins US election, Basketmouth declares

Humour merchant Bright Okpocha aka Basketmouth has jokingly declared that he will run for Presidency if Donald Trump emerges as the next President of the United States of America.

His comments are coming after Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka vowed to destroy his American passport if Trump emerges the winner of the fast approaching US elections.

“If Donald Trump wins the US election; I’m so running for the Presidential election in Nigeria 2019.” Basketmouth said.

Earlier, Professor Wole Soyinka, a scholar-in-residence at New York University’s Institute of African American Affairs said; “If in the unlikely event he does win, the first thing he’ll do is to say [that] all green-card holders must reapply to come back into the US. Well, I’m not waiting for that”.

Continuing, the Professor added that; “What is happening in Europe shouldn’t surprise any of us … It has happened before”.

“We were here when Enoch Powell was leading his thugs out to drive blacks from here … it’s a constant fight to try to get a nation to recognize its own noble persuasions, its own persuasions of the loftiness of human possibility. It’s for young people like you to say no to them whenever that happens, he said.
