I’m not scared of Eagles stars –Iheanacho

Manchester City starlet Kelechi Iheanacho has revealed that he is not intimidated by the array of stars in the Super Eagles while declaring his readiness to take his chances if fielded against Swaziland on Friday.

Iheanacho who is one of the players being considered by Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, as Nigeria battle Swaziland in the 2018 World Cup qualifier, said he is ready to prove his worth if given the opportunity.

“I am full of confidence and not shy to play for the national team of Nigeria believing that the senior players are better.

I am happy to be part of the group bidding to qualify for the 2018 World Cup. I am here to do my best for the Eagles. I play with experienced players at Manchester City,’’ Iheanacho enthused.

The 19 years old, who was a member of the Nigeria U-17 that won the FIFA U-17 World Cup in United Arab Emirates in 2013, also spoke about his not too impressive outing with the U-20 team, the Flying Eagles at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.

Flying Eagles Coach Manu Garba kept on the bench in most of the games at the tournament but Iheanacho said,‘’Even though I tried my best, it was his decision to choose players he wanted. I am in the Super Eagles and I have to show want I can do.”
