Immigration confirms Bobrisky’s arrest near Benin Republic
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has confirmed the arrest of the controversial cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye aka Bobrisky.
The NIS spokesman, Kenneth Udo, confirmed the arrest of the social media personality in a statement on Monday in Abuja.
Udo said Bobrisky was intercepted at Seme Border while attempting to leave the country on Monday.
The spokesman said: “In keeping with its commitment to securing the borders, the NIS intercepted Idris Okuneye otherwise known as Bobrisky at the Seme Border over an attempt to exit the country.
“The Service wishes to inform the public that Idris Okuneye is a person of interest over recent issues of public concern.

“He is undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action.
“The Service assures the public that it will continue to be civil and professional in its statutory responsibility of manning the country’s Borders.”
A blogger, Martins Otse aka Very Dark Man (VDM), had earlier on Monday announced Bobrisky’s arrest in a video posted on his Instagram page.
“Bobrisky has been arrested this morning at Seme border while trying to enter BENIN REPUBLIC to escape the current investigation by the house of reps, he is allegedly being held by the Nigeria immigration,” he wrote.
