Sen Dino Melaye kidnapped

Embattled Senator Dino Melaye who was earlier arrested this morning by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has been released.

The senator, who represents Kogi West at the Senate, was arrested at the international wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport while on his to Morocco, for an official engagement sponsored by the Federal Government.

His arrest came after Kogi State police commissioner, Ali Janga, had on March 28 declared Melaye wanted alongside Mohammed Audu, son of a former governor of the state, Abubakar Audu.

Police had then said that the duo have also been placed on Interpol watch list, explaining that it took the step over the senator’s alleged provision of false information to the police over attempt on his life last year.
