Imo APC secretariat locked up, now under police guide

Crisis in Imo State All Progressives Congress (APC) is not getting any better as its secretariat located at Imo State University Junction Owerri, is now under lock and key with men of the Nigeria Police manning the entrance of the building.

Since the May 5 APC nationwide ward congresses, the ruling party in Imo State had remained a shadow of itself.

While a faction of the party loyal to Governor Rochas Okorocha had insisted that there was no congress in the state, the faction led by his deputy, Prince Eze Madumere and some major chieftains of the party in the state, continue to claim that ward congresses were held in the state.

The situation of the party in the state got worsened when some suspected hoodlums on Friday set the party secretariat on fire.

Recall that the APC national leadership had to postpone the party’s local government congress in the state owing to the problem rocking the state APC.

However, monitored reports from the state by Ripples Nigeria, showed that policemen are now in control of the secretariat with their Hilux van packed by the side of the building.
