The Court of Appeal on Friday ordered the Imo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal to reinstate the Action Alliance (AA) as the 2nd Petitioner in the petition brought by the AA governorship candidate, Uche Nwosu.

The Presiding Judge, Justice Owoade JCA dismissed the objections of the respondents and allowed the Appeal filed by Nwosu against the ruling of the Tribunal that allowed AA to pull out of the petition challenging Emeka Ihedioha’s election.

It will be recalled that the Tribunal had allowed the prayer of the AA to pull out of the petition filled by its governorship candidate.

The Federal High Court in Abuja had on Monday ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to remove the name of Uche Nwosu as a governorship candidate in the last election held in Imo State.

Justice Inyang Ekwo voided Nwosu’s candidacy on the grounds of double nomination by two political parties, the All Progressives Congress and the Action Alliance, in violation of section 37 of the Electoral Act.
