Imo Assembly suspends all 27 LGA chairmen
All elected local government chairmen in the 27 local government areas of Imo State have been suspended by the state House of Assembly members.
The development came this Thursday, following a motion by Chika Madumere (Nkwerre) for their immediate suspension.
Raising the motion, he alleged that the chairmen refused to appear before the state legislature to explain the financial running of their LGAs.
The actions of the suspended chairman, who Chike accused of refusing to properly honour invitations sent to them on several occasions, undermined the powers of the legislative arm of the state government.

The motion was unanimously supported by all the lawmakers at the plenary.
