Supposedly impeached Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rita Maduagwu, on Tuesday presided over the plenary of the state lawmakers.

The development came as the factional Speaker, Ikem Uzoezie, was reportedly at the office of Department of State Service (DSS).

Uzoezie was said to have driven out of the Assembly complex around 11:am accompanied by DSS officials.

Some minutes later, the factional Speaker, had in a message he sent out through Whatsapp claimed, “I’m in SSS office now.”

It was learnt that no sooner had Uzoezie left the complex than Maduagwu presided over plenary, where the House members in attendance passed a vote of confidence on her.
