Indian PM in surprise historic visit to Pakistan

Narenda Mordi made a suprise stop-over in Pakistan to meet his counterpart, Nawaz Sharif. It is the first time an Indian prime minister visited the rival nation in over a decade.

The Indian PM was on his way back to India from Russia and also had a brief stop-over in the Afghanistan capital, Kabul when he decided to pay Nawaz Sharif a visit.

Both countries had talks at the Climate Change Summit in Paris over peace dialogue plagued by attacks and long standing distrust among both nations.

The two countries have fought three wars since independence from Britain in 1947, two of them over Kashmir.

A ceasefire agreed in 2003 remains in place, but the neighbours often accuse each other of violating it.
