Darius Ishaku, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared winner of the 2019 Governorship and National Assembly polls held on Saturday in Taraba State.

According to results released by the Mr Shehu Iya, a professor at the Modibo Adama University, who also doubles as the Returning Officer for the election in the state, the PDP scored a total vote of 520,433 while the All Progressives Congress (APC) recorded 362,735 across the 16 LGAs.

Speaking during the announcement of the results at the INEC office in Jalingo, Mr. Iya said the incumbent governor satisfied the requirement of the law and has been returned re-elected as such.

In final breakdown of the results from the 16 LGAs, the PDP won 12 LGAs while the APC candidate, Sani Danladi claimed victory in the four other LGAs.
