INEC halts announcement of guber results

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has put a hold on its planned announcement of governorship election results from Tafawa Balewa local government area in Bauchi State, as ordered by the Federal High Court in Abuja.

That much information was disclosed by Ibrahim Abdullahi, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (INEC) at a press conference staged at the Prof. Mahmood Yakubu Conference Hall, INEC Headquarters in Bauchi on Tuesday.

Addressing newsmen at the briefing, Mr. Abdullahi said; “the court has restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission from continuing with the collation and subsequent announcement of the results of Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area as it affects the Governorship election.”
