INEC hints on postponing Bayelsa Governorship election from Nov 2

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it is considering shifting the proposed date of November 2 for the governorship election in Bayelsa State.

The consideration is said to be based on a request from the Bayelsa State government.

The Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu announced this on Tuesday in Abuja during a meeting with stakeholders from Bayelsa state.
The chairman of the Commission, also said it will soon commence the prosecution of electoral offenders in the country.

Mahmood said the offenders to be prosecuted are the ones the police have already prepared case files on.
