INEC says court lacks jurisdiction to hear Okorocha’s suit, asks for dismissal

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has moved to suspend all activities nationwide in a bid to stop the spread of the deadly coronavirus also known as COVID-19.

This was revealed on Monday by the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee (IVEC), Festus Okoye, who noted that regular and non-essential activities in its headquarters in Abuja and offices nationwide have been suspended.

Speaking further, Okoye however said that the new measures do not affect the activities for Edo and Ondo governorship elections scheduled for September 19 and October 10 this year respectively.
