He said: “We are going to create more polling units before 2023 general elections to make voting centers closer to the electorate. It has always been part of our discussions at the meeting of all state resident electoral commissioners.”

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the election, Mohammed Salihu Yahaya, also urged INEC to create more polling units in the area.

“We are calling on the INEC to consider giving my constituency more polling units. In Patigi local government area many electorates were forced to trek 14 kilometers before getting to Gadazaba to vote. As a result, many people were discouraged because of the distance.”
