Injured Dembele hopeful of return in 2months

Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele is confident he can return from injury in half the time of the original four-month schedule.

A club statement had announced that the France international had ruptured “his tendon in the femoral bicep in his left thigh,” and would be missing from the game between three and a half months and four months.

The 20-year-old sustained a hamstring injury in a 2-1 victory for the Blaugrana at Getafe last weekend.

Dembele, who was making his first league start for Barcelona in the game and his third in all competitions, is eager to return to play with his new club.

“I will be back in two months time,” Dembele captioned an Instagram post, with an image of his teammates wearing tops supporting his recovery ahead of their clash with Eibar.

The Frenchman joined the Catalan giants for an initial €105m in a deal which could reach €145m after add-ons.
