INSECURITY: Kidnapped Benue provost freed

Police in Benue on Friday said the kidnapped Provost of College of Education, Katsina Ala, Mr Tsavwua Gborigyo, regained his freedom without reportedly paying ransom.

The command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Catherine Anene, made the development known to the newsmen in Makurdi.

She said the provost was reunited with his family late Thursday evening.

Recall that the provost was kidnapped at Ihugh in Vandiekya Local Government Area on his way from a burial ceremony on Aug. 9. 2019.

The PRO said investigations were ongoing to apprehend the kidnappers and other criminal elements terrorising the state.
