Intrigues as Plateau Assembly Ousts Majority Leader

Published

on

As political intrigues take centre stage in the Plateau State House of Assembly, the assembly thursday ousted its Majority leader, Mr. Daniel Na’along from Mikang constituency, replacing him with Mr. Emmanuel Dakas from Mangu south constituency.

Also, Ezekiel Afon, from Pengana constituency of the state was unanimously elected as the new Chief Whip of the House thereby replacing the Speaker, Hon. Joshua Madaki, who held the post before his elevation.

Na’along, who was allegedly not favoured by the Governor of the state, Ho. Simon Lalong and the APC leadership in the state was barely two weeks on the seat before his removal.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of the House, Madaki, who was also elected two weeks ago, has dismissed the rumour that there is a friction between the leadership of the assembly and the Executive, saying he is working closely with Lalong and the leadership of the APC in the state, adding that he has held several meetings with them on how to move the state forward.
