US President Donald Trump has quipped in a tweet on his time line that investigators have found no evidence of collusion with Russia.

Trump tweeted: “After two years and millions of pages of documents (and a cost of over $30 million) no collusion!”

His comments are coming a day after prosecutors detailed a previously unknown attempt by a Russian to help his 2016 presidential election campaign.

It is also coming after his former lawyer Michael Cohen admitted to having contacts with Russian interests as far back as 2015.

That much was revealed in a memo by the federal special counsel in a court filing on Friday as investigations continue over Russia’s influence in the last election that brought Trump into power.

The memo revealed that Cohen was in touch as far back as 2015 with a Russian who offered “political synergy” with the Trump election campaign team.
