IPOB accuses DSS of deceit over charges against Kanu

The Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB has said that contrary to the misleading reports allegedly sponsored by the Department of State Services, DSS, on the charges preferred against its leader and Director of Radio Biafra, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, the third and last charge against him borders on importation of a radio transmitter into Nigeria and nothing to do with treasonable felony.

IPOB in a statement signed by its spokespersons Mr. Emma Nmezu and Dr Clifford Chukwuemeka Iroanya, said:” The third and last frivolous charge brought against the leader of IPOB by DSS agents borders on importation of equipment into Nigeria.

“The charge read, “that you, Nnamdi Kanu, between the months of March and April, 2015 imported into Nigeria and kept in Ubulusiuzor town in Ihiala local Government Area of Anambra State within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, a radio transmitter known as TRAM 5OL concealed in a container which you described as containing household items, which you so declared and that, you thereby committed an offence punishable under section 47(2) (a) of the Customs and Excise Management Act”.
