IPOB dares police, insists on May 30 sit-at-home protest

Despite calls from security agencies, especially the police directing residents in the South East to defy the May 30 sit-at-home protest, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) says it cannot be intimidated into abandoning its planned demonstration.

The group in a statement issued by its spokesman, Emma Powerful, on Monday urged security agencies to prepare for a battle over its sit -at -home slated for May 30 across the South East.

“There was no amount of intimation and harassment from security operatives that could stop the protest,” the statement by Emma Powerful read in part.

The latest comments by IPOB comes after the group described the setting up of a radio station for herdsmen as the height of hypocrisy on the part of the Federal Government under the watch of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Emmanuel Powerful, said the development constituted a clear and present danger to non-Fulani Nigerians, but noted that many innocent lives could have been saved if the likes of former President, Olusegun Obasanjo had spoken out before now.
