IPOB thanks northern youths for prior notice to quit, asks Igbo to return home

The Indigenous People of Biafra has appreciated the northern youths for its quit notice to south-easterners resident in the North and asked Igbo people in the region to honour the order and return home.

IPOB said it was happy that the youths this time had the courtesy of issuing advance warning to Ndigbo before embarking on their accustomed massacre of Igbos and other Biafrans living in Northern Nigeria.

This was stated by IPOB Spokesman, Emma Powerful, in a statement he released on Saturday, where the group also commended the northern youths and Arewa Elders Forum for helping to quicken Biafra exit by their pronouncements.

The Biafra secessionist group also condemned calls for the arrest of the northern youths for issuing the ultimatum.

The statement read in part, “The members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its leadership worldwide wish to sincerely thank the Arewa Elders Forum (AEF), Arewa Youths and Arewa Consultative Forum for seeing sense in what IPOB has been saying about the need for a referendum to be conducted in Nigeria to decide the fate of the component ethnic nationalities criminally lumped together by the British in 1914.

“Biafrans in general also wish to thank these vocal Northerners for at least having the courtesy to issue advance warning this time before embarking on their routine massacre of Igbos and other Biafrans living in Northern Nigeria; unlike what their fathers did in 1966 when death, destruction and mayhem were unleashed upon unsuspecting innocent civilian populations from the South comprising of mostly Igbo men, women and children.

“Igbo massacres in Northern Nigeria have occurred so many times that it has almost become some sort of an annual sporting activity for blood thirsty Northern youths . That is why we are particularly grateful to Arewa Youths and Elders for having the decency to give us prior notice before the slaughter commences.

”We promise to adhere to your warning to leave Northern Nigeria because a word is enough for the wise. Biafrans and other Southerners should start packing their properties to come down to the South.

“We also advice the Northern youths and their Elders to keep it on because all they have done is to exercise their right to free speech which is not a crime under any law known to man.

“We are therefore against those calling for the arrest of these Arewa Youths and their Elders,” part of the statement read.

Well stated by IPOB, they really want Biafra, that’s why they didn’t take offense to the northerners’ ultimatum. Since the north is ready to support their move out of Nigeria, the IPOB’s too are always ready to adhere to warnings.

Northerners have forgotten that no matter what, if they want to War with ibos, they will regret it big time. Ibos are not Yorubas , we are sophisticated in ammunitions to destroy them

The Yorubas have more sophisticated weapons in their brains, they use their heads wisely and when necessary. Igbos like show off without having anything. If the Hausas don’t call for war, why not go to war with them because of your “sophisticated weapons”?

Did anyone notice that more than once the statement included “other Southerners” along with Biafrans? This is why this whole fracas is worrying. If allowed to devolve into a full blown crisis it will affect other Nigerians who are neither Hausa nor Igbo. Abeg make una get sense do una quarrel with maturity o, don’t come and use your reggae to spoil other people’s blues o

Arise O compatriots, Nigeria’s call obey.
Don’t let the labour of our heroes past should not be in vain. Nnamdi Azikwe, Obafemi Awolowo, Ahmadu Bello won’t be happy to see a chaos Nigeria they fought for.
    I am against divisioning.
