Iranian Instagram sensation and Angelina Jolie ‘lookalike’, Sahar Tabar whose real name is Fatemeh Khishvand, currently in detention for “cultural crimes and social and moral corruption”, is allegedly ill with the covid-19 virus and on ventilator.

The 22-year-old who was said to have contracted the disease while in prison has been denied bail despite the country’s release of about 85,000 prisoners last month.

Speaking with US-based Center for Human Rights in Iran, Human Rights lawyer, Payam Derafshan stated that authorities were of the habit of denying claims as sensitive as this and would not admit she had been hospitalized.

“We find it unacceptable that this young woman has now caught the coronavirus in these circumstances while her detention order has been extended during all this time in jail”. Mr Derafshan said

Sahar who shot to limelight in 2018 after undergoing close to 50 cosmetic surgeries to look like American movie star, Angelina Jolie, was detained in August and charged for blasphemy, inciting violence, getting money illegally and encouraging youths to corruption.
