Italian actor declared clinically dead after hanging scene goes wrong

A 27-year-old Italian actor Raphael Schumacher has been declared clinically dead by doctors after he was strangled when a hanging scene went wrong on stage.

Schumacher was performing alongside other cast in an experimental theater production in the courtyard of Pisa’s Teatro Lux when the unfortunate incident happened.

The police are now investigating his death as to whether proper procedures were in place before the incident with four people under investigation for manslaughter in the actor’s death according to Italian media.

A spokesperson at Cisanello Hospital in Pisa where the actor was declared clinically dead told said Friday that Schumacher’s family has authorized the harvesting of his organs, and the doctors have started the procedure.
