Iwobi pleased after committing future to ‘special club’ Arsenal

Arsenal turns down Everton's £30m offer for Iwobi

Super Eagles star, Alex Iwobi, says he is pleased to have extended his contract at English Premier League side Arsenal on Friday.

The 22-year old has been at the club since he was six years old, and has progressed to the first team, where he has made 98 appearances and scored nine goals.

“It’s always been my childhood dream to represent Arsenal, from young,” he told the club’s official website after penning the deal.

“To get an extended contract is an amazing feeling.”

Iwobi also took to Twitter to express how he feels after committing to the club on a long term basis.

“Really Pleased To Extend My Contract & Commit My Future To This Special Club. From Under 6 To BIG17 So Many People Have Helped Me. Thank You,” he tweeted.

“Grateful To Our New Manager For The Faith Shown In Me & Our Fans For The Love, Support & Patience. Excited For 18/19 ??❤️.”

The Gunners boss, Unai Emery also told the club’s website: “I’m very pleased Alex has signed a new contract with us.

“He is a great example of a player who can succeed from the Academy through hard work and I look forward to working with him and our other talented young players in the squad,” he added.
