A Gabriel Jesus goal was enough to send Manchester City to the final of the English FA Cup after they beat Brighton 1-0 at Wembley.

Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun was missing in the matchday squad of Brighton.

Pep Guardiola’s side were nowhere near their best but a largely undistinguished contest was settled by Jesus’ stooping header.

The goal went in after only four minutes, as the Brazilian converted from Kevin de Bruyne’s perfect right-wing cross to earn the winner.

Brighton battled manfully but could not turn possession into prolonged threat.

City will now face either Watford or Wolves in the final at Wembley on May 18, 2019.

The Etihad side are up for a quadruple this season as they remain in hunt for the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League after winning the Carabao Cup.
