Jigawa Assembly Speaker, other principal officers sacked

The Speaker Jigawa State House of Assembly, Honourable Isah Idriz Gwaram has been impeached by lawmakers of the assembly.

The speaker, according to information gathered, was removed by 20 out of 30 members of the House of Assembly.

The development came at an emergency meeting, where they took the action.

The Speaker was sacked along with the state Assembly Majority Leader, Sank Isiyaku, and the Chief Whip, Aminu Sule Sankara.

Soon after impeaching the Speaker and the other principal officers, the lawmakers unanimously selected Idris Garba Kareka to serve as the new Speaker.
