Jigawa Gov, FG officials, others fingered in N46bn fertiliser scam

Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State, the President of the Fertiliser Producers and Suppliers Association of Nigeria (PEPSAN), Mr. Thomas Etuh and other top government officials have been fingered in alleged N46 billion fertiliser scam.

Fertiliser dealers and producers in a petition they submitted on Tuesday to the Senate Committee on Agriculture, headed by Senator Abdullahi Adamu, accused the governor, Etuh and his European agent of hijacking a multi-billion naira fertiliser deal initiated by President Muhammad Buhari and his Moroccan counterpart King Mohammed VI.

The group in the six-page petition made available to journalists at the National Assembly revealed how Etu allegedly used his company, TAK Agro and his European agent to hijack the deal, a process they feared may force the price of fertiliser to N8,000 per bag if not checked.

The petition was jointly signed by fertiliser dealers: Mr. Mohammed Sani, Felix Okonti, Chika Chukwudili Misbahu Bello Sani, Noel Keyen, Nnamdo Okoro and Boniface Ukoko.
