JOIN THE SURVEY: Based on Senate’s rejection, should Buhari drop EFCC boss Magu?
President Muhammadu Buhari forwarded a letter to the Senate to approve for confirmation, the appointment of Mr Ibrahim Magu as substantial chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The Senate, however, rejected the request, citing a letter from the Department of State Security (DSS) indicting Magu for wrongdoing as reason. The issue has thrown up squabbles within the Senate as well as the Presidency. So, what do you think? Should President Buhari drop Magu as EFCC chairman based on Senate’s rejection? Vote below

Magu’s situation is such that our own opinion may not count as much as those in the highest ranks. But if we are to suggest, I’d say, Magu’s time in the EFCC is over!

we want the content of the letter sent to the Senate by the DSS is to be revealed to Nigerians so we can know what was the stance of the DSS to have written the letter to the senate and thereby we can also whether Magu should be ratified or not.

If Magu has no corrupt related past and if he is found innocent, then no one should stop him from being approved as chairman of the anti-graft body because I am sure Buhari has belief in the man before he appointed him as the acting chairman of EFCC.

Magu confirmation is on hold pending when the allegations against him are verified….I think the right thing the president should do is ask him to step aside until investigations are completed. More so, such office as chairman of EFCC must be seen as undaunted and above board to be effective and also gain support from the people. Magu deserves kudos, yet the needful should be done.

I am for Magu whether Senators like him or not so long as he is not found guilty for the allegations yet to be substantiated. As far as I am concerned it is simply a matter of corruption fighting back.
