Yes, the numbers should remain, so as to enhance good governance and representation, however, their salaries and allowances and other benefits should drastically reduce in order to have lawmakers who are ready to serve their people, not their pockets in the red chamber.

Politics should not be seen as a means of amassing wealth but a means to serve the people with honest mind.
Our senators and reps should have this in mind. We need not reducing their numbers or scrapping any.

The lawmakers are too much, how many laws are they making? How many issues are they always deliberating on that we are having 469 people ? They should be cut down to about 100 and nothing like bicameral should be considered. “Single camera” can cover all the issues going on in Nigeria that need to be deliberated upon in the house.

You’re too totally correct, if we can have 100 sound minds, they will perform better than the 469 hooligans we currently have

I agree with you, even the 100 you suggested should work on part time basis since it not everyday that they seat to pass a law. It is a waste of public resources to maintain 469 law makers who probably might seat not more than twice a week to legislate on national issues. Since when had the President sent the 2017 budget and up till they have not sat down to look at it critically and it is April now, are they serious at all?
