JOIN THE SURVEY: Is the presidency taking Nigerians for granted by not disclosing Buhari’s whereabouts and illness?

Again, Senate rejects another Buhari's nominee

President Mohammadu Buhari’s repeated and now-protracted stay in London on medical vacation has generated much controversy among Nigerians mostly around issues of transparency and accountability.

The presidency and its supporters argue that the president has upheld acceptable standards by confirming that he is ill and following the constitutionally stipulated process of notifying the National Assembly before embarking on his medical vacation.

However, many others, including the opposition and some civil society groups, counter the argument by observing that the president and his team have not revealed the exact nature of his illness, the attendant medical procedure, the cost of his public-funded treatment, the expected duration of the treatment and his recuperation, and whether or not he is still capable, on health grounds, of fulfilling the constitutional obligations of the office of president.

The last time I checked the constitution about Buhari’s stay abroad was this morning and as at then, Mr President didn’t break any part of the constitution. Anyone who’s not comfortable should go to United Kingdom where Buhari is to reside because he or she needs the presence of a president

What we should be doing now is pray for Buhari, not criticizing his stay in London. This man is not in London to play, he’s there for medical attention. Although he’s spending Nigeria’s money, however this is one of the many privileges of being a president. Let us PRAY not HATE

A man is in UK wasting Nigeria’s resources and you say it’s part of the privileges of being a president! You’re silly! This is worst than those who looted Nigeria’s money, he’s also stealing from Nigerians as well. Let him resign and use his money to treat himself!
