BUHARI REPLIES JONATHAN: Only the guilty have reason to fear

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) will likely be officially dissolved by Thursday May 28, ahead of the presidential inauguration ceremony and handover of government slated for Friday, May 29.

A presidency official revealed that President Goodluck Jonathan will hold the valedictory meeting of the FEC Wednesday, while the cabinet will be dissolved on Thursday night during the dinner to be hosted by the president for Muhammadu Buhari.

This, the source stated, is to enable his ministers attend the presidential dinner, which they may not be allowed to do if the cabinet is dissolved before then.

According to a source, members of the council are all aware of the development with regards to the cabinet dissolution.

Meanwhile, the Federal Government has declared Friday May 29th, 2015 as public holiday to celebrate the 2015 Democracy Day.

The Minister of Interior, Abba Moro made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government.

A statement signed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Abubakar Magaji, urged Nigerians at home and the Diaspora to support the incoming government and pray for the success of Nigeria’s democratic process.
