Jonathan’s ex-spokesman, Reuben Abati arrested by EFCC

Special Adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Media, Dr. Reuben Abati has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

According to reports, he was arrested and taken to the commission’s office early hours of Monday afternoon, where he was asked to write a statement.

Abati, like Femi Fani-Kayode, who was rearrested last week by the EFCC, remains one of the vocal critics of the Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government.

Already, there are comments in some quarters that Abati is another victim of President Buhari’s perceived drive to silence the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and critics of his administration.

The anti-graft body is however yet to offer any explanation for its interest in Abati. Only recently, Abati authored an article titled, ‘The spiritual side of Aso Villa,’ which has received wide reviews and rejoinders, including one written by Femi Adesina, Senior Special Assistant on Media to Buhari titled, ‘The unspiritual side of Aso Villa.

Its Reuben Abati’s turn to be harassed. We need to stand up against this tyranny. what kind of govt goes after it critics, they want everyone to support whatever bullshit they bring our way. Nooooo wayyy, they can’t silence everyone. the next person on their list would be Reno Omokri and then who again? Do we keep quiet and wait till we can no longer voice our opinions or Probably, we say the truth the way it is, then you wake up to DSS at your door front because you exercise your right to freedom of speech. Nigerians need to wake up and curtail this MAN we have as a president. Yess, the emphasis on the MAN because he is not God. I’m pissed this morning

I’m beginning to lose my confidence in this administration. Arresting and detaining people on corruption basis are doing more harm than good to this country. It seems the Buhari-led administration is using these people to keep Nigerians talking and divert our attentions away from things that are more important.

Days ago, Fani-Kayode was re-arrested after he was granted bail, now Reuben is in custody, all in the name of corruption. Fine, this money they supposedly misappropriated is for the public, I think it’s high time we forgave these people so that Buhari and his people will stop chasing shadows up and down.

My thoughts too! But it’s unfortunate that the Public for whom this fight is supposedly being fought has no say in any matter concerning itself. We are apparently under the strong hands of a dictator, and I fear for Nigeria my country.

Where are the missing soldiers? Where are the remaining Chibok girls? We need improvement in our economic sector, not this bullshit Buhari is giving us.

The beginning of wisdom is the fear of buhari. No writer especially who belongs to PDP should write anything bad about APC government, because if they do, efcc or DSS will arrest them o. I have said my own.

Can someone tell me why Reuben Abati was arrested, this government is desperate. this is just a case of misplaced priority. we have issues dragging us down but instead our govt prefers to go after ghost all in the name of fighting corruption.

If buhari have his way he will sentence Jonathan to death because i see no reasons why buhari is sending the EFCC and the DSS to arrest Jonathan special adviser abati without reasons

Buhari is an imposter he deserve nothing than to be arrested by the EFCC and the DSS that is the only thing that can stop corruption in our country instead of buhari fooling him self by arresting the innocent PDP candidate.Buhari should be arrestedr
