Joshua backs Mayweather to beat McGregor

Ahead of this weekend’s fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor, heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua has made his prediction.

The fight, which seems to be the most anticipated bout of the century, will see the undefeated boxing legend, Mayweather, face the star of the UFC, McGregor, in Las Vegas.

With everyone eagerly waiting to see who comes out on top, Joshua has backed Mayweather to emerge victorious for the very simple reason that the American has never tasted defeat.

“Everyone does [have a chance of winning], that’s what makes sports interesting, that’s why people are watching,” Joshua told Metro Sports.

“There has to be one winner and one loser but if I was a betting man my money is on Mayweather because he’s never lost!

“I don’t think he’s about to start now. He’s too experienced.”

Joshua has suggested he himself could take on an MMA fighter in the future, saying:

“Mayweather is setting a trend and opening up the gates for people like myself. I think it can definitely happen.”

Meanwhile, McGregor and Mayweather have arrived the city, and the stage is set for a fight expected to break all kinds of box office records.

The fight will finally happen at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, August 26.
