Residents of Omozogie in Uteh community, Ikpoba Okha Local Council of Edo State, at the weekend, were connected to the national grid by the Benin Electricity Distribution Company Plc (BEDC) after several years of being in darkness.

Addressing the town hall meeting, the Head, Community Relations, Mrs. Virginia Osineme, said the protection of the substation was everybody’s business.

She pleaded with the community leaders to work with BEDC to educate children, youths and their wives on the importance of electricity safety and also help disseminate safety tips to avoid accidents.
