A second republic lawmaker, Dr. Junaid Mohammed, has thrown his weight behind the Governor of Kano State, Abdulahi Ganduje over the creation of new Emirates in Kano.

Mohammed, who praised the governor for responding to the yearnings of the natives and splitting the Kano Emirate into more, said Gandujr has done no wrong but only taken a bold step in responding to the age-long desire of the majority of the people of Kano.

“If the governor does not create Emirates, who will do so,” Mohammed asked.

“Governor Ganduje is simply responding to the age-long and popular demand of the people of the state and he should be applauded for this bold and courageous action, which has been widely accepted by the broad spectrum of our people,” he said.

According to him, the laws of the state vest the powers on the governor through the state House of Assembly to regulate the existence and operations of Emirates in Kano State.

This, the the former lawmaker said, the governor did by splitting them into more.

He also insisted that the governor’s action would stand the test of time because he has not breached known law by the action.
