Ortom explains decision to dump APC

Governor Samuel Ortom of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared the duly elected governor of Benue State by the Supreme Court.

Ortom’s victory in the March 9, 2019, governorship election in Benue State was affirmed on Tuesday, by a seven-man panel of the apex court, led by Justice Olabode Rhodes-Vivour.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in that election, Emmanuel Jime, had gone to the Supreme Court to challenge Ortom’s victory.

Jime had dragged the Benue State governor to the Supreme Court despite losing the same matter at the tribunal and the Appeal Court.
