JUST IN.... Buhari signs Bill to change the name of Nigeria Prisons

President Muhammadu Buhari has signed a bill changing the Nigerian Prisons Service to the Nigerian Correctional Service.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters, Senator Ita Enang, disclosed this to State House correspondents on Wednesday.

He explained that the Correctional Service was made up of Custodial and Non Custodial Service.

He said that the Non Custodial Service was intended to be a place of reformation and that the person sentenced under this will not stay in custody but will have remediation.

With the signing, the Nigerian Prisons Service will now be called the Nigerian Correctional Service.
