The Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday declared as inconclusive the election of the November 16 Kogi West Senatorial District because the margin between the two candidates, Dino Melaye and Smart Adeyemi, was less than the total cancelled votes.

The Commission said it would announce a date for the supplementary election.

According to the INEC, Adeyemi of the All Progressives Congress (APC), scored a total of 80,118 votes while Dino Melaye, who represented the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the election, garnered 59,548.
