Police begins investigation into Melaye’s ‘kidnap’

Security operatives wearing masks on Friday whisked embattled Senator Dino Melaye away from the Police Clinic in Garki, Abuja.

Though it was not clear where the operatives were taking the controversial senator representing Kogi West to, there are insinuations that he was taken to the Department of State Security (DSS) hospital.

There are also claims that the persons who whisked him away are taking him to Lokoja, Kogi State, to be questioned over allegedly ordering political thugs to shoot at one Sgt. Danjuma Aliu.

Melaye was reportedly evacuated from Police clinic in Abuja at about 2:16 pm in commando style, Ripples Nigeria learnt.

The embattled senator had slumped last week Friday soon after he submitted himself to the Nigerian Police who laid siege at his house in Maitama, Abuja.

Melaye had initially lied he was outside Nigeria and could not submit himself to the police. However, after police stayed put at his home for eight days, the senator made himself available.

Following his slump, Melaye was taken to the police clinic and had remained there till he was whisked away today (Friday).
