NDDC PROBE: Akpabio arrives NASS to face lawmakers

The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, has arrived at the National Assembly to face lawmakers in the ongoing probe of the financial activities of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

Akpabio arrived at the venue at about 11:23am and the hearing commenced soon after his arrival, with all armed security men sent out of the venue by the committee.

The committee is investigating alleged financial misappropriation at the NDDC.

Akpabio has been accused of corruption and sexual harassment by a former acting Managing Director of the NDDC, Joi Nunieh.

The minister has since denied the allegation.

The Reps committee engaged Nunieh on Friday when she appeared before the panel via teleconference.
