Tinubu donates N200m for COVID-19 fight

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Sunday announced a donation of N200 million to aid the country’s quest to end the COVID-19 scourge that had infected 111 people in the last few weeks.

The former Lagos State governor said on its Twitter handle that N100 million would be made available to the state government and another N100 million to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to support their campaign against the pandemic.

He had earlier commended residents of Lagos for complying with the directives of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on social distancing and other measures to curb the spread of coronavirus in the state.

The NCDC on Sunday confirmed 14 new cases of COVID-19 in Lagos and Abuja, bringing the number of people with the disease to 111.
