Juve’s home unbeaten record ended by Lazio

Serie A champions, Juventus saw their over two-year old home unbeaten record come to an end after falling 2-1 to Lazio on Saturday.

The last Italian League match lost at the Juventus Stadium was a 1-0 defeat to Udinese in August 2015.

Juve went ahead in the first half through Douglas Costa’s first goal for the club, lashing in a finish from close range on 23 minutes.

But it was Lazio striker Ciro Immobile who stroked in a second-half equaliser, before netting the winner from the penalty spot to end Juve’s unbeaten start to the season.

Paul Dybala came off the bench and his strike hit the base of the upright, but he could have levelled for Juve when a penalty was awarded in their favour.

Dybala stepped up and with the last kick of the game saw his penalty saved by Strakosha.

The Bianconeri had won the last six league encounters in a row, not conceding a single goal.

The result means Lazio stay fourth, while Juventus drop to third in the table.
